Now the fishery is just a shadow of what it once was. The reasons for this decline are both complex and perplexing, but what is certain is the fact that something needs to change in order to restore this important fishery. Dan Wilson, a Department of Game and Inland Fisheries biologist, believes the time has come to set the striper management effort on a new course.
