The fishing was certainly disappointing Friday after the past several weekends at Rudds/Butchers Creek. We had been catching multiple fish in the area up until last weekend 3/22/09 when we were shut out with only one throwback found up in the main channel near Clydes Island. Looking at our notes from past years the fish should have been around the bridges in Clarksville. The only difference from past years was the high water, muddy water and water temps in the low 50's not the upper 50's. Just hold on it will be just a few more weeks when you see multiple boats in the area around the bridges in Clarksville and up river. It will be the yearly spring run. Lots of boats catching lots of fish then all will shut down until the fish come back down the river to the main lake. Get ready, it only gets better from here.
