BUGGS ISLAND LAKE (KERR RESERVOIR) Buggs Island Bait and Tackle, (434) 374-8934, reports crappie fishing around bridges and brush piles should give anglers a successful trip. Bass will be hitting well on topwater lures early in the morning, and then switching to artificial worms and crankbaits as the temperatures rise. White bass and white perch are scattered. The stripers are following the baitfish and the blue catfish are hitting in deep holes.
