Striped bass land anglers a $35,000 boat Friday, December 09, 2005 By GEORGE THWAITES Times-News Who says striped bass aren't serious tournament fish? Tim Adrien of Gray and his partner Chris McConhy of Carrollton, Ga., won a $35,000 Sea Pro striper boat with Yamaha 200 engine with their first-place finish in last weekend's National Striped Bass Association Shakespeare Striper Tour Classic on Cherokee Lake. The team weighed in a 23-pound rockfish the first day and sealed victory with a 22-pounder on the final day. The two anglers, who fish for Team River Pro, intend to sell the boat and split the proceeds (interested anglers can call 279-0113).
