It is comforting to know that the Turlock Irrigation District has all the answers. Please have them answer the following:
Why has the Delta Estuary, that supported 23 fish canneries, now have none? What can be done to restore those fisheries?
Why did salmon and striped bass, as well as all other native fishes, co-exist in health and abundance prior to water diversions? What can be done to bring back the ecological health of the largest tidal estuary on the west coast of both North & South America?
Why is the entire Delta ecosystem collapsing? It is known as the Pelagic Organism Decline.
Why is the Sacramento-San Joaquin River System listed as the most endangered ecosystem in the United States by the American Rivers Institute? What can be done to fix it?
How is it that the Delta's water do not meet the Clean Water Act standards. What can be done to improve it?
Why don't Delta waters meet CEQA standards? What can be done meet those Environmental Qualities?
What happended to the largest salmon run in California? You know, the one destroyed by Friant Dam back in the 1940's.
Would the Delta be healthier if Friant Dam were taken down?
Why doesn't TID care about Delta farmers and the people that rely on a healthy ecosystem. Are we expendable so they can take all the water they want for corporate ag?
If the folks that did the study for TID so smart, why don't we replace them with all the scientist that produced the biological opinion?
There are so many more questions that need to be answered, but let's just start with these. When they come up with sound solutions which work, we can address more problems that plaque the Delta
