People naturally begin to look for things for their children to do once school is out. At Bass Pro Shops, we are offering them the opportunity to spend some time with their children in a stress-free environment, allowing them to learn skills in outdoor activities that they can enjoy together as a family for years to come. Plus, since it is all free, it is an economical alternative to paid summer camps . Events should prove to be interactive and fun, providing a pleasant outlet for the family and many memorable moments.
Most of us remember going to summer camps as children. We were outside learning archery, and how to fish, swim, make campfires, and other things. On rainy days we stayed indoors and did crafts like leather working, making birdhouses, plaster crafts and more. We learned about the outdoors and we have good memories of those days. The Family Summer Camp is the same idea. We are offering adults and kids the chance to go to Summer Camp here at Bass Pro Shops, learn some outdoor skills they can enjoy for years to come and, best of all, it is all free!
The 2009 Family Summer Camp Event is geared to offer families a way to spend an enjoyable summer together with free crafts, interactive displays and outdoor skill workshops, in an atmosphere much like the day camps many of us attended as kids ourselves. The Event offers:
· free laser shooting gallery
· free casting pond
· free crafts like the ones you used to make in summer camp—custom leather crafting, braided
key chains, making and painting plaster animal tracks, decorate a fishing lure, design a
birdhouse and more….different craft activities every weekend
· free archery shooting range
· free photos like you holding up a stringer of fish on a magazine cover
· and free food—local vendors food sampling
In addition, Family Summer Camp Workshops for kids will be held featuring:
· bird watching
· shooting basics
· fishing basics
· plants and insects
· hiking basics
· archery
· camping basics
· animal identification
