Hi all,
We just finished the fourth week of tagging striped bass. As usual, we captured fish in fyke traps out of Knights Landing and drifting gill nets out of Antioch.
In 40 trap-days (i.e., 10 traps fishing 4 days) we captured about 200 legal-sized and about 85 sublegal-sized striped bass. I didn't get a bycatch report.
In 28 gill-net sets (each about 30 minutes) we captured about 270 legal-sized and about 35 sublegal-sized striped bass. I didn't get a bycatch report.
It picked up a little, but like the last three weeks it's still pretty slow.
