This is a message from the State Water Resources Control Board.

Dear Stakeholders and Interested Parties:
On September 26, 2008, The United States Congress introduced the Economic Stimulus Bill, H. R. 7110- Job Creation and Unemployment Relief Act of 2008 (Bill). This Bill would address the nation's need to bolster the economy and create jobs, it is our understanding from USEPA that this Bill or a very similar Bill will be approved and signed by our new President shortly after January 20th. In the current Bill, Title I, Chapter 2, explains utilization of the Federal Capitalization Grants for State Revolving Funds pertaining to water and wastewater infrastructure. The California Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) would receive an amount in excess of $450 million; however the total allotment could increase. Once the Bill is enacted, fund priorities will be focused on "shovel-ready" projects that would create jobs immediately.
The California CWSRF Program will host four CWSRF Economic Stimulus Workshops to discuss the Bill's objectives and provisions, project priorities, and funding mechanism.
