"OUTDOOR ADVENTURE FAIRE"
FREE KIDS’ FISHING DERBY AND HUNK FINN LOOK-A-LIKE CONTEST WILL BE HELD AT SHADOW CLIFFS REGIONAL RECREATION AREA, PLEASANTON, CA.
Saturday, April 26, 2008, beginning at 7:30 am to 5 pm
Christ’s Kids Sports Ministry, East Bay Regional Park District and Let's Go Fishing
Productions are offering free fishing and a Huck Finn Look A-Like contest for all kids
5 - 13 years of age. Other activities available all day includes: Arts & Crafts, Exhibits, Climbing Wall, Story Telling by Mark Twain, Treasure Hunt, free raffle, food, music and demonstrations by the Golden Gate Disc Dogg Club.
To get your information packet on the fishing derby and contest rules for the Huck Finn Look-A-Like contest, you must pre-register on line at info@christkidsports.org or call (925) 719-1950. A parent or guardian must accompany all children on Saturday, April 26th. No drop offs.
Christ’s Kids Sports Ministry has a strong commitment to the community’s youth and is proud to host a memorable event for the kids. “The Outdoor Adventure Faire” will be a great bonding experience,” said Jim Stegall, event spokesperson. “The beauty of fishing is that it is an activity that a family can enjoy together for a lifetime,” added Stegall.
Our featured entertainer is McAvoy Layne, of Nevada. He has been portraying Mark Twain for over 20 years. Mark Twain will be judging the Huck Finn Look-A-like contest, telling stores at the children's theater, and providing photo opportunities.
Other contributors to the "Outdoor Adventure Faire" are San Bernardino Natl. Forest Assoc; California Hawking Club; U. S. Coast Guard; Pleasanton Wal-Mart; Fishermen’s Warehouse; Walton’s Pond; California Fish and Game; and California Water Fowl Association.
