Banks After four and a half hours of inactivity, all the committee could do was grant $10,000 for an educational program at a Bay Area school after the recommendation of Ethan Rothman of DFG. Two Board members voted against the grant feeling that it was not a correct expenditure for designated fund money. Now bear in mind, the committee has $1,500,000.00 of authorized money to spend and this is all they can come up with. Remember, we are suffering a loss of all the specie in the Delta, We are looking at more water diversions via The South Delta Improvement When the Board was questioned, Neil Manji, Chief of DFG Fisheries Branch. said to tell you that they are aware of our problems and are trying to address the issues. I replied that this committee has had two years to help our fisheries and the sister Committee, the Striped Bass Stamp Fund has had several years to address the problem, and nothing has been done An opening exists on the Bay Delta Stamp Committee and one of the members suggested that the position be filled by a CSBA member. Heather immediately nixed that idea and said that the Director will make the appointment. I would be willing to bet that the positiopn will be filled by another Striped Bass Stamp Committee Member. By the way, The Striped Bass Committee has several Million Dollars and hasen't met in quite a while. They are going to meet "sometime in the future". My feeling is that the DFG wishes that the Striped Bass would just go away, so that they could spend "their money" on salmon and trout.

I attended the Bay-Delta Stamp Advisory Meeting in Davis on Oct 13,2006, and was outraged at the lack of action and lack of interest on restoring our Bay-Delta Fisheries.
Progam, and the Intertie Program. Plus the Regional Water Control Board has given farmers a 5 year exemption from the Clean Water Act.
