Posted by Jim Martin I truly appreciate the anger we fishermen feel when we are constantly to "go-to-guys" when it comes to increased regulations on sturgeon, stripers and more. Especially when we all know about the problems with water diversion and poaching. One thing though the DFG is not advocating a slot limit in this situation, it's being proposed by anglers. I don't advocate for a minute lowering our efforts to fight the water issues. The other part of the issue is that stripers are considered almost an invasive species by the feds and the powerful commercial salmon troller's lobby is not on the side of more stripers... On the issue of pen rearing, and water diversion, we need a strong recreational fishing lobby on federal levels. It takes money....
