Jim, Thank you for your posting and welcome to our web page. I agree with Jackson Chapman in that anglers are not the prime cause of the fishery decline. It has been a difficult fight to get our stream flows restored and to get the polluters to clean up their act. We are working very hard on both of these problems.
One other strategy that we may explore, is to get the California Striped Bass, declared a Native Specie.
In the unlikely event that we could do this the NM
Lets look at this for a moment, The Striped Bass hyas been in California for well over 100 years and has co-existed with Salmon and the other aquatic species.
Now after this long time in our waters, maybe we could find some scientific proof that our fish have evolved physically into an entirely different specie than the East Coast
Striped Bass and shoud be called The California Striped Bass, native to California and the West Coast. If we could cause this to happen, The California Striped Bass would get the protection that it deserves as California most sought after gamefish. THINK ABOUT THIS.
