Posted by Gary Adams Thanks for the information. Unfortunately I was out of town. I find it interesting that one of Ryan's Deputee Directors would appear to make such a request of the committee, while at the same time they have ignored our requests regarding the status of the Striped Bass Stamp Funds accountability. It was my understanding that Tom Cannon was also scheduled to give a report on the striper status per Heather since he was on the last agenda. Did Tom give a report? It seems that the Department owes us a explanation on what has happened to our dedicated funds. Why? There hasn't been a Striped Bass Stamp meeting for almost two years. DFG has failed to submit a plan for manageing our fishery. Lead Bioligist prior to Marty, Pat Colston of the Bay Delta Region stated that "They wouldn't do a damned thing for the Striped Bass" despite indications that the young of the year were in trouble and that the adult population of stripers of large spawners were shrinking. Since that time, the young of the year using DFG's indices the striper young of the year has continued to be below .1 during the last six years. The latest report from CSPA indicates that within ten years their will no longer be a viable striper fishery. Ladies and gentlemen we can no longer stand by and allow the DFG manageers of the BAY Delta, DWR, Water Managers and their Lobbyists in the South and West San Joaquin control our water and the Delta fisheries! We are at war! We must use every remedy possible to save our fishery. We do have allies, it's our turn again to take off our gloves and throw down the gaunlet (a filet glove). Make no mistake, our stripers, our sturgeon, our childrens heritage are at stake. Gary
