Posted by Gary Adams The Peripheral Canal SB 1612 has been pulled from the committee hearing for tomorrow for the present time. This is good news. I would like to thank everyone for their support. There are continuing issues where our physical presence will be needed by all CSBA (past and present) members and their families and friends. However it does not mean that the issue is dead. I suspect that it will arise again next year if not sooner in another form. Hopefully next time it will include the proper public input with full blown EIR, EIS documentation. I feel that this bill and All Matters concerning our Bay Delta Sacramento San Joaquin's fisheries and health be open to all of our communities in open In attending the various Fishery Commission hearings I found out just how important everyones presence is. Coastside and their membership along with representatives of commercial and communities standing together was and is something to behold. I can't find the words that can describe the emotions of a united effort. Kudo's to all and their families. May "Common Sense Prevail". Gary

Everyone:
public forums. Having Congressional Hearings related to Specific Legislation spread in seperate communities (example: Pombo's CVIPA hearing in Fresno rather than in the Delta where our communities are most affected by the pending legislation) must be related to us specificly with the opportunity for public comment and participation. Stockton hearing on SDIP and letters worked! We must continue to let those that would be God's that they are our servants. Business as usual is no longer acceptable.
