I read about this already, and I was definitely slightly surprised to see it passed. However, I also wasn't surprised either to see that there was low turnout for this ballot initiative, and this is eerily similar to the data I've seen for Ohio state voter turnout in 2006, when their current state smoking ban was on the ballot.
I should one day look up voting data for Arizona and Nevada(which also had smoking bans on the ballot at the same time), since I've wondered if those states had similar situations to the Ohio smoking ban initiative(where a ban passed b/c of low voter turnout).
