Here in the UK, we are taxed even heavier than you guys. We have seen a massive swing to roll your own, and smuggling is rife. Nearly every street has someone who can get you contraband cigarettes or tobacco. I jump on a ferry to Spain, to obtain mine legally, but at about half of UK prices. Government statistics show a decline in smoking, due to taxation increases, but in reality there are about double the amount of smokers that our stupid government thinks. The good news here is that they are starting to realise that it is the drinkers who are the bigger problem. Who ever heard of a smoker getting into a car and killing someone because of their habit?! So maybe us smokers will be in for an easier time for a while? There is also a groundswell of opinion that says they are realising how much business they have killed, and there is talk that we may be allowed some smoking bars and clubs again! So, sometimes the dominos stand up again!!!!!
