All true, but you're forgetting the most damning statistic of all regarding why cigarette taxes are dishonest pyramid schemes. The central point of their defenders, the premise that smoking plays a disproportionate role in raising health care costs, is diametrically opposed to the reality. Due to the fact that they die sooner and less expensively than do healthy-weight nonsmokers, smokers run up 21% lower lifetime health care bills. Check out my link for the full story...
