This thing passed with a 65/35 margin. Unbelievable. Extremely light turnout. I'll bet if they had had this on the ballot last year, it would have lost.
Ban goes into effect in Jan., 11. It exempts casinos, tobacco shops and establishments whose food revenues are under 25% of total revenue. It also exempts private clubs. I find that one interesting. We might end up with smoking clubs in this area.
Antis hated this proposal because it wasn't total. Tough luck for them, although I'm sure they'll be back. Bar and restaurant owners are proposing lawsuits.
