Is this the way the Sentry's mind works?

Each time the Sentry is featured in a story this seems to change, but do I have it currently understood correctly.
The Sentry is normally at about Thor-level of strength with perhaps higher durability, flight, and super-speed along with some other powers.
The level of his powers varies with his mental stability. On a good day he can hold his own with just about anyone. On a bad day he can't get out of bad.
The Void is either the dark side of Robert Reynolds or who Reynolds truly wants to be. The Void would often manifest without the Sentry knowing. At one point they seemed to separate and the sentry threw the void into the sun after gaining better control over his mind. However, due to the Void being part of the Sentry's mind it would return if the Sentry's mental stability wavered too much or of the Sentry called upon too much power.
The Void is the more powerful of the two. That is why when ever the Sentry begins to access to much power he risks loosing control. Also, previews from Mighty Avengers seem to confirm this.
However, the Void can only manifest at its full power when the Sentry is in a weak mental state. When the Sentry is confident the Void either manifest in weakened version or cannot manifest at all. Basically when one is strong the other is weak, but the Sentry controls the relationship.
Finally, since the Void has no physical body, but a is a projection of shorts from the Sentry's mind physical attacks are little good against it unless one can somehow nullify the Sentry. If one could figure out a way to block those projections (a psi-jammer maybe?) the Void would not appear.

Also, is the Sentry the Sentry full times now? It seems that if Bob Reynolds really was the Void and the Sentry threw that physical being into the sun than Bob would be dead. The current Sentry has full control, but since it has all of Bob's memories that is why there is still the risk of the Void.
Do I understand this correctly?
