Posted by jsf Given that Bob's a druggie with psychological problems, one of the ways I'd explain his "retcon" of MU history is by basically showcasing how he happened to be around certain events (ala Forrest Gump), and THOUGHT he was involved (since the serum that gave him his abilities messed with his mind further). The easiest way for Marvel to appease both the fans of the character and non-fans would be to show how the serum he drank DID impart his powers to him, but also distorted his memories, which involve him being witnesses to significant events, but not a participant. They could even do this by having it be part of his "sessions" with the psychiatrist from the last mini, who is slowly helping Bob get a handle on his powers, as well as his dementia. There's what Bob thinks happened (the retcon of the MU), and then there's what really happened (pre-Sentry Bob the addict who stumbled into things). And, just to really muck this up, they could introduced Dr. Faustus as one of Sentry's main anatgonists. He'd be perfect for it. --Previous Message--

They should actually do a "2-for-1" double book ... the first story which recounts the sort of tale you want to see (the "hidden history" of the Sentry), the second story which recounts the sort of tale I want to see (Bob Reynolds THINKING the first story happened, when it didn't).
: I wouldn't mind seeing some of the stories of
: my youth retold with Sentry included. I
: read where he got zapped out of existence
: around the same time as Captain America
: became Nomad.
