How can we know if anything about the Sentry is true?

I read the Sentry mini today and it got me thinking. With the Sentry's abilities to alter memories and create people out of thin air how can we know anything the Sentry claims is true? How can we know this isn't all part of some huge fantasy? The Sentry supposedly pre-dates the Fantastic Four and gave up his powers to prevent anybody from remembering. How do we know all those memories were not implented and the Sentry's origin as he remembers it is completly false?
