Someone posted an Ironman vs Sentry Fight earlier on this site. This is my reply.
tech and his intellect. I doubt that Iron Man
has a suit capable of handling the potential
amount of energy that the Sentry could
unleash. In terms of a sheer power battle,
there is no way that Tony could match him. Not
even if he unleashed every Iron man suit ever
constructed on Sentry via remote or AI
simultaneously. Not if he had every weapons
satelite and sytem on the planet primed and
aimed at the Sentry, not if every energy
capacitor on the Earth was trying to leach
Bob's power at once. "The power of a thousand
exploding suns". The power/energy released
from a single star going nova is enough to
wipe out a solar system, and the energy wave's
effects are felt galaxies away. Imagine a
thousand stars exploding simultaneously. Tony
cannot match that level of power step for step.
Tony would have to outwit him, however it
seems that Bob isn't an idiot himself. Tony
has that 'Bruce' manipulative quality about
him though, that underhandedness which Bob
might not expect.
A far better fight would be Thor vs Sentry.
This could be that no holds barred fight that
we've been craving for decades but that's
never been delivered. That fight of legends
which'll leave wet spots in fan boys jocks for
eras to come. Have we ever seen Thor or Sentry
truly ever go all out to the max, using every
ability, power and skill at their disposal?
No we haven't. There has always been some
reason to hold them back. Sentry has feared
the coming of the void, and has been scared to
go all out. Thor is limited by his sense of
honour and nobility in that when faced with an
opponent who is less powerful, or a weaker
fighter etc he'll fight at their level to make
it fair. Bollocks man. I finally want to see a
great artist and a great writer finally show
us what these guys can do if they don't hold
back. I finally want an intelligent take on
what it means for these two powerhouses to be
unleashed. I don't want to see any excuses.
Each of these guys could liquify a human with
a punch, could circumnavigate the globe in an
eyeblink, could destroy the planet without
breaking a sweat. Show us man, show us. I want
to see Thor actually using his storm powers to
their potential, and the havoc it would wreak
when he does. I want to see him using his
fighting skills which he has sharpened over
thousands, if not millions or billions of
years to their full potential. He is a warrior
God. A viking warrior God. God of Thunder. The
God of thunder. He is as strong as the Hulk
(if not stronger - for those of you who
dispute this, check up your history first...
check the facts). He has energy absorption and
release capabilities off the charts. He can
teleport between dimensions. If he loses his
temper he becomes ten times more powerful.
He's nigh invulnerable. He moves at the speed
of lightning. He's stalemated Galactus, Ego
etc. HE's a freaking viking warrior God. I
wish that Marvel would finally write him as
they should. Show us what this guy can do.
Show us what the effect of a fight he's in
does to the planet. And then we have the
Sentry. Marvel's Superman, who makes the man
of Steel look rusted. He too has stalemated
Galactus. He took out Terrax as if he was a
gnat. He took out the collective X-man,
Avengers & FF. He's as fast as light. Power
off the charts. A brawler, he seems as if he's
not a skilled fighter, but s#$t he just needs
to out power you.
Thor has survived being blasted from Asgard to
Earth (by Odin), he's survived blasts that
destroyed planets, encounters with the
Celestials... all with no great visible harm
to himself. His God Essence Blast, anti-matter
blasts, and vortex's are second to none in
terms of raw power.
I've always wanted to see proper fight between
god-like individuals like this. To date,in all
of comics, in all companies it has not
happened. Say what you want, the writers and
artists have just not thought it through
thoroughly enough, have not considered all of
the physics, have not catered to all aspects
and situations. Or they've been chicken shit.
Damnit show us this fight, and make it a
minimum of twelve issues long. These are, bar
none, the two most powerful hero-type
characters in mainstream comics. Us fans
deserve to see what their throw down would
actually be like. Imagine a super fight where
everything was written and drawn as how it
would happen if these characters and their
abilities were real. Imagine the effect on the
populace. Imagine the sheer deafening sound of
this fight. Imagine the shock waves, the
upheavel, the sonic booms. Imagine if the
fight was taken into the depths of the ocean
(and factors such as ocean pressure,
earthquakes, lack of oxygen were considered),
imagine if the fight carried onto or into the
sun and the sheer heat and gravity were
considered. Imagine if reflexes were truly
considered. What about the speed, force and
pressure of a super fast punch connecting?
Imagine how terrified the normal folk (and
superfolk for that matter) would be due to a
fight that's reshaping the planet.
Is this not what super brawls in comics should
be like?
