I guess speculations could vary from nanonites in the serum (kinda hard to believe though) to who knows what. Given the exposure to varies alien tech and biology in the MU, the possibilities are endless.
What if the serum is actually a Kree formula initially created to jump-start Kree evolution due to their genetic dead-end.. and it didn't work.. unless.. use a human.. hence the Sentry story. Kinda how they wanted to use Rick Jones for the same reason in the past due to his vast potential. Might even lead to the Sentry becoming the new Captain Marvel.
What the serum was actually taken from the Waters of Life? (SS/Morg story)
What if the serum wasn't a serum.. but something else??
Or worse yet, what if it's actually a very concentrated form of Powerade?
