Re: Saginaw Sub Passenger Trains?
The last passenger train north of Plymouth was the "Valley Queen" between Detroit and Saginaw. Its last run was some time in 1949 or 1950. In 1955, Plymouth to Kearsley was still timetable/train order territory (no CTC yet). My 1955 employee timetable shows 3 freight schedules in each direction north of Plymouth. However, they would have run other trains as extras, or as additional sections of the existing schedules. Pretty sure the 60's and 70's were among the busiest on the line when the auto business was really humming. As I've stated before, we had 22 manifest trains operating north of Plymouth not including locals, grain and coal in the 1970's. It was about the same south of Plymouth as well.
