55 years ago this weekend! August 31 to September 4, 1962! Final Saturdays only run forever of the remaining C&O Railway passenger train between Traverse City and Petoskey, was made on Saturday, September 1, 1962. Final Fridays only run forever of the old NYC RR summer months only passenger train 397, the Timberliner, from Detroit to Mackinaw City, was made on Friday, August 31, 1962. Final Sundays only run forever of the old NYC RR Timberliner, passenger train 396 from Mack City to Detroit, was made on Monday, September 3, 1962. And final run of the remaining old NYC passenger trains 394-395 between Bay City and Mackinaw City, was made on September 4, 1962.
