The third line down lists the date and time as
1115A JAN 16
which is easy enough to figure out, but doesn't tell me the year.
Now, the line below it has a string of numbers that look to be sequence number of some sort, ending with
5066EBHAR011612
5066E is obviously the locomotive number and direction, BHAR is the location where the consist was printed, 0116 is January 16, and my hope is that the 12 at the end is the clue to what year the consist was printed.
Given how some mainframe systems have worked in the past, I'd guess that it was either the number of years since the mainframe was installed, or the number of years since January 1, 1970. Or it could be something else altogether.
It's definitely prior to 1986, since it has cars bound for South Haven.
Would any old heads be able to tell me whether there is actually enough information to come up with a guess of the year?
I've worked up all sorts of other details about this job, except for the actual year the consist was issued, for an article in an issue of PM TRACKS that I'm trying to get to the printer this week.
Any suggestion for how to figure out the date?
Thanks!
