Re: C&O Trains Ludington-Saginaw?
Starting around 1976 there was only one train each way between Saginaw and Ludington. I don't recall the numbers, but starting in 1977 the symbols were LU75 westbound to Ludington and TL74 to Saginaw (and eventually to Toledo). There was also a Ludington-Evart turn local M-F. There were other trains on the subdivision that I have documented on here before. MP17 ran Saginaw-Baldwin-GR and ML18 ran GR-Baldwin-Saginaw. #145 ran GR-Bald-Walhalla-Manistee and #146 ran Manistee-Walhalla-Bald-GR. A lot of set offs and pick ups were made to swap blocks at Baldwin and Walhalla. There was also a Sag-Mt Pleasant local that ran to Mt Pleasant a couple days and week, and to Clare on other days. Also, a Dow Chem Special loads ran on Sunday nights (same route as ML18) and the empties returned on Thursdays. Dow coal between Saginaw and Midland as required. Probably answered more than you were looking for!
