I looked through my Meints Michigan Railroads and Railroad Companies. Lenawee County was well represented on the still born railroad company list. It's not possible to discern what their proposed routes were exactly and sometimes generally!
To me side of the road tends to indicate interurban. But that cut and fill indicates railroad to me. Interurbans followed the lay of the land as much as possible. That hill and valley seem to be well within the capability of an interurban line.
What an interesting location to build some right-of-way. Doesn't seem to be any other related to it in the area.
I wonder if someone built something like $10,000 in r-o-w in order to get something like $500,000 from investors.
