I have many memories of this plant from my younger years, some of which I have previously shared on this forum. One that will stick with me always is this:
Shortly after I began my career with Lear Siegler Instrument Division in Grand Rapids, I asked my boss if I could take the morning off to go watch the last train pass through my home town. That was January 11th, 1983. We had a nice conversation about his similar experiences from his younger years and his father's career in the other Michigan Carnation condensed milk plant in Sparta. Later that day, he visited his doctor who put him in emergency surgery which he didn't survive. I'm glad I got to help him go down memory lane.
