There is a book called Rails Around Michigan written by Michael C Kelly. It is a very well rounded with lots of color photo's, and covers the entire state. Page 28 shows a photo of a short Conrail train in downtown Tecumseh in 1980. At one time, this was a NYC/LS&MS branch that ran from Lenawee Junction to Jackson, trimmed back to 13.6 miles, from Lenawee Junction to Clinton in 1964. As to when the industry you mention quit rail service, I don't know, but the photo in the picture I described shows the train with 2 box cars and a caboose, so, I'm assuming that they were active post 1980.
