The A. G. Hardesty atlas of Porter County, Indiana, published in 1876, has a map of Valparaiso and Center Township that shows exactly what you are asking about. The connection to the PFW&C left the GT line about halfway between Campbell St. and Yellowstone Rd., crossed Marion St. on the curve at its east end, ran (apparently) along the east side of George St., curved gently and somewhat to the east, and connected with the PFW&C about under the Lincoln Hwy. bridge. The PFW&C connection switch was a westbound facing-point. The length of the connection was a little less than 0.8 miles.
