About 100' north of the river is another set of abutments on the old Big Four R-O-W. The abutments are 80' to 90' apart. There is no obvious reason for those abutments, but I'm wondering if the interurban line ducked under the Big Four at that location. Can anyone confirm this?
I have a copy of the George Bradley book, Northern Indiana Railways, and it includes a map of the interurban route through Niles, but the area I'm talking about is not included.
