Once Penn Dixie Cement shut down, the C & O was no longer interested in Petoskey. That was by far the largest customer in the area, with a 3 or 4 track yard off the mainline next to the entrance to the plant. I can still recall stings of hopper cars sitting in that yard.
Petoseky Plastics may not have been the biggest shipper on that line, but they were the most vocal when the washout closed the line. They wanted it fixed, and fixed now. Costing them thousands of $$$'s to transload and ship from town.
Let's not forget about Big Rock. Not a big shipper, but what they did ship was big. Not sure if the MIGN ever made a move in or out of there, but it was quite a siding back into the plant. Too bad the line wasn't still in place several years ago when they had to truck all that stuff out of there, to load it on to railroad cars elsewhere.
