I passed by this farm, referred to by RUN 8 in a recent post, again today. When I pointed the phone camera out the window to get the first picture, the lady on the mower flagged us down and waved us into the drive way. I told her I was by two weeks ago looking for the grade and noticed their beautiful farm, and just had to get a photo. She invited us to take all we wanted. I then told her the story that RUN 8 had posted and she was very interested. She was aware of the farm's history and knew of the Gray Family and the Hansberger's that followed. She and her husband bought the place 25 years ago. It had stood vacant and open for three years and needed a lot of work. She then invited us inside. What a beautiful transformation.
The rail line passed to the right of the taller, open hay barn, inside the tree line behind the three bales. When I was here two weeks back, it could easily be seen at the grade crossing. Today, the foliage is to thick to see it.
RUN 8, I have more photos if you would like to share them with your family. Just drop me an email and I'll send them to you. I think it is going to be for sale soon.
