Borland, GR&I remains
Posted by aghudley on 4/14/2015, 9:04 am
My Silent Whistles geocaching partner, Andonbray, sent me this photo he took of remains at Borland, on the GR&I. There is a water tower, building foundation and concrete platform, about a hundred feet east side of the White Pine Trail near the Morley-Stanwood high school. Are these railroad remains or something else. The water tower has concrete supports similar to the one in Ravenna.
Does anyone else have photos or other information about Borland? Michigan Place Names (Romig) has information about post offices, but little else. There was a sawmill and a feedmill there in the late 1800s but little else is listed in a Gazetteer.
