Here is some more info on other PM/C&O spurs around the Flint area that existed prior to the 80's. The Flint Water treatment plant had a spur that crossed Dort Highway along the northern most perimeter/fence line of the Water plant grounds. It curved sharply to the south, and went into a small bay located on the west side of the plant. Tank cars of some sort of chemical used in treating the water was used there. Also, just north of there, another short spur crossed Dort Highway, and went into the grounds of the business that was and still is called Industrial Scrap Iron. Both of these short spurs came off another spur that connected to the maze of tracks just north of the chemical plant that still exists today. Even though the water plant stopped using the rail service in the 70's, the track to there remained connected until I-475 was built around 1980. The spur to the scrap yard was taken out then also. And, don't forget the spur that serviced the old Ternstedt plant. It came off the main just north of Stanley Road, and went up a pretty good grade before reaching the plant grounds. From there, there was a small 2-3 track sorting yard there, with spurs into the plant.
