I've heard that one of the most plowed lines on the entire PM division was the short branch from Palms to Harbor Beach. The line ran through several cuts across large open farm fields, and being close to Lake Huron, received a lot of lake effect snow. I recall seeing a newspaper picture many years ago during the early 70's of a pair of C&O geeps stuck solid with snow up to the cab windows near Ruth. It took a plow, and a set of 4 more geeps to pull those engines back free.
