Looking at SPV Railroad Atlas Great Lakes East, and comparing it too Google Earth Satelite, it appears that the only rail line near the area you are referring to was a spur coming off the CSX (former C&O/PM) that ran somewhat north just east of Stanton street, then turned west just north of 33rd street, and ran down to the river where it turned south for some distance. This spur at one time was referred to as "The Hole". The last time I was up that way was last fall, and that spur was still intact, but I don't think anyone down by the river uses it any more.
