More on Sandusky Branch.

A great book covering the operations of all former railroads throughout the thumb is available. It is titled "Rails Around The Thumb", written by T.J.Gaffney. This book is full of old photographs of locomotives, cars, depots, and industry that once proliferated the thumb region. (also several maps). I got my copy a little over a year ago from Riders Hobby in Flint, and the cost was $21.95. Well worth the cost. Sandusky is represented on a couple of pages, as well as just about every little town that had a railroad in the early to mid 19th century.
