But all things usually change, and now we're back to the Superliners again. In fact, it's nice that the PM regularly runs with Superliner equipment, one of Amtrak's few short distance routes to do so. I believe one of the Supers now is a cafe/coach, which allows some food service to be offered each way. The Blue Water and 350/355 consist was also Superliners during the winter for several years, but this has been discontinued over the past few.
Thanks Pete for sharing the original shot of the PM and the follow ups of the CP action! I have a photo of a 371 in Grand Rapids from I'd guess the mid-1990s, with a single F40PH and three horizon coaches. This must have been from the era before your initial photo. I don't know the exact year but I remember it was still at the time when the train only ran Fri-Mon. The daily service is certainly a more popular option!
