Agency/operator jobs varied widely as well. Probably the two busiest ones I worked were Vassar and Pt. Huron. At Vassar, you could keep busy running over to Super Foods to photograph damaged goods, and typing up paperwork for the re-sale of the damaged goods to an entity from Saginaw that purchased the stuff. Pt. Huron was a race against the clock once you got the consist on the train out of Saginaw to get the Sarnia boat runs cut (originally by teletype tape, and later by punch cards), and then getting all the tape/cards punched and oraganized to run the outbound train back to Saginaw from the cars that came over from Sarnia, plus the salt and other stuff out of PH, and have the paperwork ready for the train crew. St. Louis was also fairly busy because of the Chemical Co. that used to be there.
