I looked at a 1937 aerial of that location and I can make out the building there. No railroad unless you travel 1.5 miles west on Fisher where the DBCW comes south east across Fisher (at that date it was removed there).
First guess is a small one room school house. The bell tower looks to be removed at the date of your photo.
Interesting relic,perhaps some old plat maps would show some ownership.
