AFE-3474-11135 covers the PM's purchase of 6 E-8's (#'s 103 to 108), 6 BL-2's (#'s 80 to 85), and 3 70 Tonners(#'s 20 to 22). The file containes an estimated 400 pages in no real order.
#20 recieved by the PM at Toledo 1/9/47. First revenue run was 1/13/47 at 6:55 AM on Saginaw Train 60.
#21 recieved by the PM 1/9/47. First revenue run was 1/13/47 on the Saginaw East Local.
#22 recieved by the PM at Toledo 1/12/47. Arrive at the Wyoming engine house 1/13/47 at 11:30 AM. It ran engine light to Waverly Holland, MI) 1/17/47 at 4:45 PM witn engineer J. Hurst, fireman W. Lee, and flagman R. Johnson. It was called for it's first revenue run on 1/18/47 at 12:01 AM for a Grandville turn.
#'s 103, 104, 105, 106 accepted by the PM at Indiana Harbor 5/1/47 at 1:15 PM. First revenue runs:
103 5/3/47 at 6:40 AM to Petoskey
104 5/3/47 ay 6:40 AM to Petoskey (cut of in Traverse City)
105 5/5/47 at 6:40 AM to Petoskey
106 5/5/47 ay 6:40 AM to Petoskey (cut of in Traverse City)
80 received by PM on 6/30/48 at 8:15 PM. First revenue service was the Grand Rapids Coach Job 7/2/48 at 1:30 PM.
81 recieved by PM on 7/1/48 at 9:50 PM. First revenue service was the House Job in Grand Rapids 7/8/48 at 6:00 AM.
82 recieved by PM on 7/1/48 at 9:50 PM. First revenue run was the Grand Rapids Coach Job 7/6/48 at 2:15 PM.
Planned initial assignments as of June 5, 1948 for the BL-2's are:
80 & 81 to work Grand Rapids to Ionia locals
82 to Detroit
83 for passenger service between Holland and Muskegon
84 to work Ludington to Manistee
85 to work out of Traverse City
