In another article about the abandonment it states that only three customers would lose rail service, Big L Lumber, who had switched mostly to trucks (they received 36 carloads in 1981), Sheridan Bean and Grain, and Central Bean and Grain at Vickeryville. Big L said they had received almost 1000 carloads of building materials from 1975 to 1979. The article also said that during 1981 the GTW only handled 54 carloads between Greenville and Carson City. The track between Backus Road and the east side of Fish Creek in Carson City was pulled up in the summer of 1983. The City of Greenville owned the GTW main from the junction switch at Clay Street to Backus Road, about a mile to serve the industrial park. TN
