Memories sometimes cause one to reach for the crying towel, but quite often they also induce a smile. One of my many pleasant railroad memories involves a caboose with a cupola that seemed almost as tall as the body was long, heading south, behind several freight cars being pulled by an Alco RS-2, long hood forward, leased from Delaware & Hudson (but lettered and painted Pennsylvania RR.) on GR-10 south of Kalamazoo, switching the industries along the way.
