I try not to predict if my future is going to be good or bad. I just try to hope the best is yet to come and have a positive outlook on life.
For 2008, my husband was laid off completely out of the blue from a company that was/is making money and hiring. A coworker had overspent the budget by 20 million dollars, so the department VP decided to lay off 5 people to help make up the difference. The guy who overspent the money still works there. My husband and 4 other people had their positions eliminated, the department director and managers were not consulted about who to layoff. On the plus side, my husband now has a job with a company that he is happier with.
In November I got news that I hope no one will ever have to deal with. It destroyed me. Cancer or death would have been better news. There are very few things in this world that could have been worse, for that alone I hope that 2009 will be better. That alone made 2008 the worst year of my life and I hope that truly is the bottom.
