Hey all,
Friday night, I went to a local bar that features live music. I heard an 80's cover band called "The Breakfast Club". They were very good, and had an extensive set list. Here are some of the songs they played:
Danger Zone, Footloose, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Come On Eileen, Pour Some Sugar On Me, Crazy Train, Every Breath You Take, Walking On Sunshine, I Love Rock 'N Roll, The Final Countdown, Eye Of The Tiger, Don't You Forget About Me, Wild Wild West (Escape Club), Paradise City, Jump, Summer of '69, (I Just) Died In Your Arms Tonight, Beat It, You Give Love A Bad Name, Sunglasses At Night, Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This), Axel F, Tainted Love, We Built This City, Ghostbusters, Down Under, Cars, 867-5309, Take Me Home Tonight, Working For The Weekend, Talking In Your Sleep, Power Of Love, Whip It, Here I Go Again, Don't Stop Believin', Your Love (The Outfield), and more.
Oh, and the whole time they were playing, I was wondering if they were going to play some Rick Springfield. They did not disappoint, and they saved the best for last. The lead singer said, "Hey, let's play some Jessie's Girl", and they started playing the song. They got to the end of the first chorus, where it stops before going into the second verse, and said "Goodnight, everybody...thanks for coming" and started to walk off the stage. The crowd went wild. They came back and finished the song to the crowd's delight.
They played probably a solid 90 minutes, then took about a 30 minute break, and came back for about another hour. It was only $10 to get in. I felt like I was 18 all over again -- it was a totally awesome night of music!
