The only real difference I with you is about Favre earning the right to play two more years. Had he not retired and tried to come back he would have been the starter in GB, but you're not invincible no matter how great you've been. If you retire, then the franchise needs to make plans to move on and they did. They have to do what's best for the Packers and not Brett Favre.
We talked the other day about what Peyton Manning deserves. You didn't feel like he deserves that big contract and I ask why would Favre deserve to be able to play the "might or might not" game every year, retire, then try to come back when the team made a committment to Rodgers and just be handed his spot back, yet Manning doesn't deserve the big contract? You said to me to look at all the times Manning got beat in the first round and I feel that argument might be justified except that Favre has had his share of playoff letdowns as well. If Favre deserves that kind of special treatment then why doesn't Manning when all they are doing is offering him a big contract? And Manning didn't cause the drama that Favre has caused.
