You're right, the Packer "spirit" or whatever has been tainted. I used to have such a pure love for the Packers that just isn't there anymore. I think its all the denial and former and current Packers afraid to be honest anymore. Like no old Packer, especially the ones that still do appearances/endorsements in the area will ever say anything bad about the Packers management out of fear that they'll appear "disloyal" somehow by siding with Brett.
And then you have everyone else gushing over Aaron Rodgers, and players like Driver and Jennings saying crap like Rodgers is the best QB in the NFL, and is better than Favre.
Everything is so based on "appearances" and I can't tell who actually believes what they say anymore. The Packers didn't used to be like that. I think I heard Jerry Kramer speak the closest to truth, but he still censored himself out of fear of a backlash.
And it spreads to national media too, especially with this international pact to refuse to say anything bad about Aaron Rodgers. The guy played against Brett Favre in the biggest game of his life, and he turned the ball over twice and all anyone talks about is his career high in garbage yards. There's so much dishonesty and phoniness surrounding everything Packers these days it stinks.
