For more ammo. on the Brett Favre effect. This is the poll that asks who your favorite team is.
Just to set this up, the archives only go back to 1998, where Brett's team was #2, and was America's favorite team from 2002-2005. In their 4-12 year, they dropped to #4, where they stayed for Brett's final year as a Packer.
In 2008, when the Packers dumped Favre they dropped to #5 (a rank Favre has never had that low), and the Jets jumped from #17 to #9.
Now here we are in 2009, and the Packers have continued their slide to #6 (who knows the last time they've been so low), and the Jets slid back down to #20, while the Vikings have jumped up to #10 (their highest rank 2003).
See folks, this is why they pay him the big bucks, and why 22 million people watch him beat the Packers in an all-time cable record.
